Periodically, we like to introduce you to a member of our staff whose hard work helps us bring you the very best jewelry care products in the industry. Patrick Tenenbaum, our Graphic Designer, has worked with The Kingswood Company since 2016, wowing us with his design talent and entertaining us with his creative personality.
When I was in high school, I thought my career path would take me either toward medicine or linguistics. Then I took a Graphic Design class as an elective, just for a quick credit. I picked up the skills really easily and quickly fell in love with design. My education and career path changed to pursue design, and I graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design in 2014.
One of my favorite parts is seeing all the different designs we develop with our customers. On some occasions, I have made preliminary designs that our sales team has used in their proposal to a potential customer, and it’s exciting when the customer loves it and chooses to use that design.
I also really enjoy working on new projects, like custom packaging and product development. It takes some extra work to figure out all of the details but it’s fulfilling to see the beautiful final product.
Recently, I redesigned the Kingswood website from the base up which let me use my web design skills. Creating a new website is a challenge, but our whole design team worked together, and it was rewarding to see the website launch and go live.
My family is… unique in our family parties. This past Christmas we hosted “Christmas around the World” with each dish themed from a different country. We also are extremely competitive with some of our parties, including our Easter egg decorating contest, our chili cook-off, our ugly sweater contest, and our gingerbread house decorating contest (every element must be edible!). This year for our gingerbread contest we had 15 participants, and I built Notre Dame Cathedral which tied for first place with my sister, who made a greenhouse.
Everyone in my family has some musical talent. I am an 11-year classically trained pianist. Growing up, I went from dabbling on the family piano to taking professional lessons and playing in competitions I have also taught myself how to play the drums and ukulele. I have also started teaching myself acoustic guitar and bass, and plan to learn some string instruments like violin and hammer dulcimer.
