We are also committed to reducing our environmental impact, which affects all communities worldwide. Our Fine Jewelry Cleaner and Gentle Jewelry Cleaner have always been non-toxic and biodegradable. And our new Natural Jewelry Cleaner is all-botanical and naturally derived. But we realize that there is more to sustainability than buzz words. Following is a summary of where we are focusing our efforts and making strides to do even more.

Think Local

Nearly one hundred percent of our suppliers are based in the United States. This is a win for our national economy and the planet. Buying raw materials from local suppliers results in fewer road miles traveled for the materials to get to our production facility in Ohio. We specifically seek out local and regional suppliers for heavy materials such as corrugate and chemicals. When we do buy from national sources, we work to ensure that inbound shipments are consolidated and utilize back-haul shipping lanes to conserve fuel usage.

Packaging (Reduce)

When it comes to packaging, we believe that less is more. In 2006, before many companies were even focused on green initiatives, The Kingswood Company introduced a new jar design that uses significantly less plastic. This change alone saves over 25,000 pounds of plastic each year and results in less fuel used to transport both raw materials and our final product.

In addition to reducing the amount of plastic we use, we are also committed to utilizing as much recycled material as possible in our jars, caps, baskets and brushes. We also source our corrugate from suppliers that use recycled waste in their manufacturing process. And we remain hopeful that our customers also reuse and recycle the boxes and plastics that they receive from us!

Community Partnership (Reuse)

While The Kingswood Company has worked hard to improve environmental sustainability for many years, until recently that work really focused on the Recycle and Reduce portions of the waste hierarchy. In 2013, we added Reuse to the mix. By partnering with a local moving and storage company, roughly 2,500 pounds of cardboard which we used to recycle is now being reused as moving and storage boxes.

Corporate Office (Recycle)

The Kingswood Company practices a variety of energy-saving strategies in our corporate and production facility, including ensuring that lights, computers, and heating and cooling systems are off when the office is not in use.

The recycling program we instituted in 2009 reduced manufacturing waste by over 65 percent. And our employees are encouraged to use public transportation and carpooling to and from work.

Our Education services include information on care and cleaning of jewelry designed for you to share with your customers. We offer customized content on cleaning a wide variety of jewelry for use in your website, as well as blog posts on care, cleaning, hot trends and more for your use on social media.

A private-label jewelry care line allows your sales associates to build a relationship with customers through jewelry care education. We offer training for your sales team to teach them how best to connect with their customers through jewelry care and cleaning.

The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs. WBENC certification validates that a business is at least 51 percent owned controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women.  The world-class certification standard is accepted by more than 1,000 corporations, including many of the Fortune 100, as well as America’s most prestigious brands and governmental entities.  The Kingswood Company has been certified as a women-owned business since 2006, and is actively involved in its local chapter.

The Plumb Club


The Kingswood Company was selected for exclusive membership in the The Plumb Club in 2017. Founded in 1983, the club is a unique coalition of leading, responsible and important suppliers spanning all facets of the jewelry, diamond and watch industries. The purpose of the organization is to connect its members and their customers and help shape the future of the jewelry industry. The Plumb Club’s membership accounts for a significant percentage of the domestic fine jewelry market.



Women’s Jewelry Association


Over the years, the Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) has reached out to the jewelry industry to foster professional skills with programs and workshops to encourage young women with its Scholarship Fund. With Regional Chapters and a strong national leadership, the association and its committees strive to play a relevant role in the lives of its members and the vitality of the jewelry industry. The Kingswood Company is highlighted as a supporter of WJA by hosting an annual member event at the COUTURE show in Las Vegas.



American Gem Society


The American Gem Society (AGS) was established in 1934 with a vision to create an association of fine jewelry professionals dedicated to setting and maintaining the highest possible standards of business ethics and professionalism in the jewelry industry. The Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) is the industry trade association representing more than 4000 member companies around the globe.  Founded in 1979, in the US, PLMA now provides member services to manufacturers in more than 70 countries, with members ranges from multinational corporations to small family-owned companies.



American Chemical Society


The American Chemical Society (ACS) was founded in 1876 as a congressionally chartered independent membership organization.  Today, it is the world’s largest scientific society, with a mission to advance the broader chemistry enterprise and its practitioners for the benefit of Earth and its people. The Kingswood Company has been a contributing member since 2007.



Jewelers Board of Trade


Established in 1884, The Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT) is a non-profit trade association whose primary function is to compile and disseminate accurate and reliable credit information among its members as to the financial standing, credit history and background of dealers of jewelry and related products. The Kingswood Company has been an Interchange Member since 2011, offering additional support and insights to the industry.


Kristie Nicolosi is the President and CEO of The Kingswood Company, the industry’s leading supplier of private-label jewelry care products. After acquiring the business in 2005, Nicolosi channeled a life-long love of jewelry into re-energizing the company’s offerings. With business savvy, a creative eye and a dedication to offering customers the most customizable product line, Nicolosi has added new jewelry cleaning formulas and a wide array of new packaging options. Expanded design capabilities allow customers to create a line of products in keeping with their brand, while improving sell-through and brand recognition. Nicolosi has also expanded the company’s distribution channels from almost exclusively retail jewelers to manufacturers, direct sales, pawn stores and international distribution.

In addition to offering the most effective and beautiful jewelry care products in the market, Nicolosi travels extensively both nationally and internationally to keep up with the latest trends in the jewelry industry and to share her expertise in jewelry care, cleaning and education. A frequent contributor to publications such as In Store, Martha Stewart Weddings, the American Gem Society’s Spectra, the American Gem Trade Association’s Prism and more, Nicolosi also shares her knowledge and insights in her own blog #cleanjewelry and through Facebook and Twitter.

Throughout her career, Nicolosi has been active in organizations and efforts to support and mentor women. She is a member of the International Board of Directors of the Women’s Jewelry Association; a long-time board member and supporter of The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio; and is an active supporter of The Women’s Book, the Junior League of Columbus, the United Way and the Columbus College of Art & Design. She is also a three-time nominee of the Women’s Jewelry Association’s prestigious Awards for Excellence.

As CEO, Nicolosi has committed The Kingswood Company to sustainability and reduction of its environmental footprint. A redesign of the company’s jars reduced plastic use by 25,000 pounds per year. A focus on using a domestic supply chain is a win for both the local economy and the environment. And a partnership with a local moving company has resulted in roughly 2,500 pounds of cardboard boxes being reused rather than recycled annually.

Prior to acquiring The Kingswood Company, Nicolosi had a successful career in the financial services industry, serving clients at both Ernst & Young and Fifth Third Bank. She is a 1994 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds an active CPA license in Ohio. A lifelong devotee of beautiful jewelry, Nicolosi finds personal joy and satisfaction working in the industry. Nicolosi lives in the historic German Village area of Columbus, Ohio with her daughter, Eva.
